As a volunteer activity of the 2023 Meisei Group, we have participated in the volunteer activities for reforestation in various areas organized by the Association of Tree and Environmental Network!


The total number of participants were 30 volunteers! We were divided into activity areas of our choice and asked to participate in the activities.
Activities varied from cutting bamboo to maintain the forest, building paths on rough land, cleaning up dead leaves, chopping firewood, and helping with harvesting in orchards, depending on each region!
Volunteer work hours are from 9:30 a.m. to around 3 p.m., everyone worked up a sweat while helping, even though the weather was getting colder.

After the work, we ate baked potatoes and received oranges as souvenirs.
　 　

When I participated in the field at Tama Zoological Park, the person in charge of the association said, "The growth of vegetation is very fast, and it far exceeds the speed at which people put their hands, so it is difficult to make progress," but we cut down bamboo that is larger than our height, flowers that we have never seen before, cut large logs with a saw, and collect ivy using tools such as sickles... Being active in nature was both unusual and comfortable, and I enjoyed working all day.
It was also a day when I was reminded of the importance of communicating with other staff in an environment outside of work.
