In 2024, as a volunteer activity of the Meisei Group, we participated in the sponsored by the Kiss Port Foundation (Minato Ward Sports Differentiation Health Foundation).

"Odaiba to the sea where you can swim, to the sandy beach where you can walk with Hadashi!" With the aim of preserving the global environment and creating a swimmable sea, a cleanup campaign is held three times a year (June, September, and November) at Odaiba Seaside Park.

Although the temperature exceeded 30 degrees Celsius even though it was mid-September, many participants, both companies and individuals, gathered.
Our group members also worked up a sweat and collected garbage from the beach.

　　



Garbage such as microplastics, which are scraped off and left behind after being discharged into the sea due to accidents or dumping, have washed ashore on the beach.
These are difficult to recognize because of the small garbage, but there are concerns that fish may accidentally swallow them, which will affect our eating habits. I was able to change my perception of this situation by participating in this activity.

In addition to the participants in the cleanup activities, there were also many people who spent holidays with their families and visited the beach for leisure.
Through this cleanup activity, we hope that Tokyo, where we live, will become a better environment where we live.
